The VERY unusual late Spring rains have once again put a damper on my commute stop, so for today’s photo I went to the well. I flipped through several dozen images and stopped at this one. The shot was taken back in late March at a recording session. The feet belong to two of my band mates.
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm at 70mm, f/5.6 for 1/4 second, ISO 400.
Black and white conversion: Nik Silver Efex Pro (version 1). Color added back in Photoshop.

After the gig last night several of us hung out at this establishment to chat and drink beer. It was literally 50 feet from where we played so it couldn’t be more convenient. This shot is the dénouement.

It’s June and it’s still raining in the Bay Area. Not the insubstantial rain we occasionally get during late May/early June some years, but RAIN! The sky did, however, clear this afternoon and the view was spectacular. I took a brief detour up onto the Marin Headlands because I could see while driving across the bridge that it would be lovely–and it was! I took a dozen photos, but this was the first image of the shoot.
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm at 24mm. 1/200 second at f/16, ISO 200.
