This past weekend Maggie and I hopped the Metro to go check out the Atwater Market. It was such a lovely day we decided to first take a walk along the Lachine Canal. We spent quite a bit of time walking and taking in the views–so much time that the market was closed when we returned.
This image is was taken east of the market near the locks. The brick buildings are condos.
I went ultralight for this excursion and carried my EOS M and the old trusty G11 in my little Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 20 bag. What I love most about the G11 is the articulating screen. It produces nice images too.

Now that we are living in Montréal, and experiencing our first winter here, I need to get some gloves that are functional (and warmish) for shooting with a DSLR on cold days. At sub zero degrees centigrade the hands get cold very quickly–especially those of this recent coastal California transplant. For now, the iPhone is quick and easy. Here’s me and Maggie on New Year’s Day at Parc Maissonneuve.

We’re now living in Montreal! The long distance, international move was brutal, but also amazing and eventful. Unfortunately, opportunities to take photographs during the cross country drive, other than quick iPhone snaps, didn’t happen–except during the little side trip we made to Niagara Falls (on the Canadian side).

I haven’t posted photos for quite a while because of preparing for our move from California to Montreal. Packing and loading was finished this past weekend and on Monday we hit the road for the 3000 mile drive to Montreal. We are currently on route, but because I’m doing the lion’s share of the driving and we’re on a mission to get there I’m pretty much only taking the occasional iPhone photo. When I restart the regular posts (hopefully in the next week or two) my photos will be from the eye of a newcomer to Montreal.
I talk a lot about the band, but I never post photos of the band in action because I’m on stage with them. Here’s a new video of The Mad Maggies playing “Heaven on this Earth”–listen up:
