I saw this Harley-Davidson parked on the main boulevard in downtown Petaluma. There was a lot of distracting stuff near it so I took several close-up shots. This one popped when I converted it to monochrome in Nik Silver Efex Pro.

Here’s another shot from this past weekend’s Cotati Accordion Festival. I grabbed the shot because I liked the light on the cook. No doubt, the stream of people queueing up behind him had something completely different on their minds.

We spent this past weekend playing music, selling swag and partying down at the 22nd annual Cotati Accordion Festival. On Saturday, I spent a lot of time wandering the festival grounds with my camera. I’m just now culling through the hundreds of photos I took. This one was taken fairly early in the day, and though not indicative of the energy and craziness of the festival, the image presents a back story of its own.

The bright midday light beating down on the blacktop and motorcycle made for a contrasty shot that only required a few tweaks to turn into an HDR-like image.

The Naked Ladies (amaryllis beladona) are in full bloom in Sonoma County. I took these shots of the fragrant pink beauties that were situated along a stone wall adjacent to the Julia Morgan house in my last post.
