It’s hard to be discreet taking photos in a relative small establishment while using a 5D Mark III w/zoom attached. This woman definitely knew I was taking her picture and was kind enough to hold a nice pose.

This guy’s alcove “home” is just several doors away from very pricey restaurants and chi-chi boutiques in an affluent area of a city in the state with the largest economy in the richest country on the planet.

I was able to get out and about some with my new 5D Mark III over the past couple of days. I did a lot of experimenting because I realized after my first outing that I had a learning curve to tackle. This full body portrait of Maggie, however, was a no-brainer.
And, because today is the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, here’s a shot I took with the 5DM3 last week from the top of the Marin Headlands. I decided I needed to give the 5DM3 a go during the commute home today. I ended up going all the way out to Fort Cronkhite on the Marin Headlands to get this photo. What I learned along the way is that a full frame sensor camera handles depth of field way differently than a crop sensor camera. Time to tame the beast.

I’m currently going through a major transition (all good!), so I’m wrapping stuff up and preparing to change coordinates. Also, I’ve got this brand new, monster of a camera but I’m ridiculously busy–aargh!… Lots of 5DM3 “Out and About” photos will be coming soon. In the meantime, another close-up of flora at the homestead from this past weekend.
