This afternoon we headed off to band rehearsal and several miles down the road I realized I’d forgotten to bring a camera. Damn damn damn! “Not so” says I to myself several minutes later, “I’ve got my iPhone.” So here’s an iPhone shot I took (using the Pro HDR app) of the view just across the road from our rehearsal space.

In our little worlds we pass by “familiar” stuff every day that we don’t really look at. I’ve driven by this building literally hundreds of times and never stopped to take a closer look. Here’s the closer look.

On warm(ish), lazy weekend afternoons we like to sit out on the patio and have Micheladas (aka cerveza preparada). There are all kinds of different recipes for the drink, but we prefer vegetable (like an organic V8) to straight tomato juice. And no Worcestershire sauce for me. Miller High Life is our beer of choice because the Michelada tastes best when made with a light lager–snappy ales and dark beers are better straight up.

Two things: I’ve been using Photoshop for a very long time, and, at the end of a 12 hour day, I don’t always have the juice get out there and grab a daily snap. As a compromise, I sometimes pull up an older photo I like and tweak it ruthlessly. This is one of those occasions.
