I’ve done a fair amount of “abstract” photos on the trip, but this is the first I’ve posted. (Too many beers??) Anyway, this is a camera lens view through our window this rainy night in Quebec City.

19 days into the Canadian journey and we’re finally toqued–aka, ready for preserving our heads in freezing weather. Unfortunately, it’s not snowing here in Quebec City so we’ll probably only get to use the toque as a prop in the Mad Maggies shows. The kilt plus the toque? Pourquoi pas?
Toque, or tuque.

It’s not all “pretty” in Quebec City. Near where we’re staying in Boischatel we stopped in and had a few beers at the only drinking establishment within several kilometers–Taverne du Kent. Decor aside, this working class bar had the cheapest price for beer on tap that we found in Canada. Vive le Québec!

We’re taking a chill day. The long legs on the train without the luxury of having a sleeper are taxing–doable, but it really makes one appreciate the supine position. Anyway, here’s a mixed bag of photos taken sometime during the past week.
En route to Halifax, Maggie snoozing on the train.
Old and new in Montréal.
Near Lunenburg, Nova Scotia getting artsy fartsy.
Jazzy mural in Halifax.

After a 19 hour train ride (no Wi-Fi) we’re back to lovely Quebec City for four more days. We arrived in the city at 5:00 AM and hung out at the train station (Gare du Palais) for several hours waiting for the world to wake up. (Canadian train stations in the big cities are VERY nice!) The place we’re staying at for the next two days (Le Royal Champêtre) is very comfortable and I’m feeling lazy so call this is a quicky until we get back into the city proper on Thursday. Beautiful day today, and we’re supposed to get more of the same tomorrow. So far we haven’t gotten any uncomfortably cold weather. Global warming? Whatever it is it’s just fine by us Californians.
