Fading amaryllis

June 14, 2012 Gary Wium Leave a comment

Using shallow depth of field and 1 1/2 stop overexposure on the backdrop, I was able to almost totally eliminate the detail of the garage wall behind the amaryllis. The result was a “painterly” effect.

Red eye waiting

Late at night at SFO passengers wait to board their flight. I was doing the same, but occupied myself with a camera.

Mean Streets of Omaha

I took several shots of the Baum Iron Company Building while in Omaha last weekend. I liked this night shot the best because it has a gritty, “Mean Streets” feel.

Twilight view of downtown Omaha

After the band’s shows at the Omaha Summer Arts Festival, we walked around the downtown neighborhood. It was a very pleasant, warm (not humid!) evening. The pond in this scene runs along Farnam St. between South 10th and South 13th.

Zoo Bar stage

This is the funky stage at the Zoo Bar in Lincoln, Nebraska. A lot of great bands have played this venue. We got to play there this past Friday. Cool!
