Mags and I went for a walk in the neighborhood this afternoon. Along the way we took a short detour through a grove of oaks. I had my G11 in tow so I grabbed a few shots in the shade of the canopy. I liked the intimate composition of this one, but tweaked it for a more HDR look.

This past Saturday we went to the Lagunitas Taproom and Beer Sanctuary to meet up with our friend Sean and catch up on things. As is my wont, I had my iPhone with the Hipstamatic app at the ready. I took five quick shots of him in this particular setting and liked four enough to post them as a series. Oh, and that’s an original Mad Maggies t-shirt he’s sporting!

This image was taken from our room at Hotel Belley in Québec City in early November 2010. We were holed up during the only heavy rain day we encountered during our entire 10,000 mile train trip from San Francisco to Vancouver, BC to Halifax, NS and back. Revisiting this image with the Fleurdelisé flying in the stiff wind made me feel nostalgic for the days we spent in la belle province.

Here’s a monochrome abstract of reflections on beer brewing tanks taken Saturday evening after sampling several of said brews in the brewery’s beer sanctuary.

I made a quick stop at Fort Point during my commute home today and grabbed a few rainy day shots. I didn’t have an umbrella to keep myself and the camera dry so I improvised with a sweat shirt I had in the car. I got a little wet, but the camera stayed mostly dry. This was the view towards the city.
