My three week “stay-cation” is winding down, so today I was just hanging out–as was this garden spider.

The header image I use for the blog was taken on the northwest side of the Golden Gate Bridge on an overcast day back in July 2010. I was already well into the commute photo regimen but at the time was only posting my images on Facebook for my friends to view. The blog was started that August. I got my T2i at about the same time.

Most everything in this frame is old. The “vintage” instruments and theatrical set made for some interesting compositions.

A Vespa and a Lincoln Continental, both ’60s vintage, parked under a street light. They have long since lost their showroom shine, but they still have that “cool” factor.

Last night we went out to see a friend’s band play some of their original material in a kind of theatrical setting. I brought my G11 along and took quite a few shots. I knew when I looked at the LCD screen after taking this shot that it was going to be a blog post. Sometimes you just know. The story is that the Hammond organ player is laying back while the sax player takes a solo.
