Our band played a three set gig at the Lagunitas Beer Sanctuary yesterday. After the gig, I grabbed this shot of Mad Mags herself as she exited the establishment. (We’re married so I had permission to take a moment to compose the shot. ;-))

At this past Sunday’s festival where our band played, if I had one complaint it was the lack of shade. During the hot afternoon, most of the attendees were crowded under a few trees on the perimeter of the concert area. Some, however, came prepared. These women look fantastic, and happy, in their perfect spot of shade.

Our band has played several festival gigs over the past couple of weeks. White canopied shade structures are the norm. The soft top-lighting in the shade of a canopy against a very bright, mid-day background makes for interesting photo play with exposure ranges.

Pulled from the archives, this shot was taken back in early July out in Monte Rio, CA. The bridge crosses the Russian River, but in this image it’s just an abstraction on a road to nowhere.

The naan maker was working an Indian food booth at the Cotati Accordion Festival. He seemed to be doing his job with pride and a sense of power. I say, “you go Mr Naan Maker!”
