During yesterday’s drive we took several off the beaten track county roads. Most of them were in need of resurfacing, which, given the state of the economy, is not likely to happen any time soon.

After rehearsal today, for R&R, we took a long drive out towards the coast. Along the way we stopped at the Union Hotel for some beer and a pizza. The bar was fairly empty, but the beer choices were good and the pizza was excellent! This guy was watching a baseball game. I was admiring his accoutrements.

The glow is from the afternoon light streaming through our kitchen window. “Yes, yes, I know… I need to practice.” This guitar case houses my Lucida Picado flamenco guitar which doesn’t get a lot play, but the message is clear enough. I need to get to work.

I pulled this image out of my 10,000 Miles hopper. It was taken with my G11 while walking around the all but deserted Halifax Citadel on a chilly, overcast afternoon last November. I’m not sure what was originally stored within the locked doors at the bottom of these stairs, but not knowing adds mystery to the scene.

Going back a few days, here’s another shot I took at Fort Baker in Marin County, CA. Most of the structures on the site are white with red roofs. The fog is ever present during summer afternoons.
