The only prescription is more bridge

Finally a beautiful day in the Bay Area! Back to the commute photos. Just before the northbound toll plaza there’s a turnoff that heads down to the Crissy Field area. Along the route, I took a short jaunt down to Fort Point. If you’ve never explored the access areas near the Golden Gate Bridge this is a good one to check out.

And, on this side, there’s waves and surfers who surf them.

Pros and Cons

The VERY unusual late Spring rains have once again put a damper on my commute stop, so for today’s photo I went to the well. I flipped through several dozen images and stopped at this one. The shot was taken back in late March at a recording session. The feet belong to two of my band mates.

First impression

It’s June and it’s still raining in the Bay Area. Not the insubstantial rain we occasionally get during late May/early June some years, but RAIN! The sky did, however, clear this afternoon and the view was spectacular. I took a brief detour up onto the Marin Headlands because I could see while driving across the bridge that it would be lovely–and it was! I took a dozen photos, but this was the first image of the shoot.

It’s all subjective

While relaxing on the patio yesterday afternoon, I saw this half spent salsify (has a seed cluster like a giant dandelion) and thought “time to pull out the G11.” I took a least twenty shots of it–everything from fuzzy, hairy, swirly macros to underneath close-ups aiming into the bright sky shots (the G11’s articulating screen rocks for close-ups!). I picked this shot out of the batch. Why? Because for some reason it works for my aesthetic sensibility–aka, it’s all subjective.
