Quebec City mix

It’s Friday and I’m beat, so anything goes…. Here’s a shot I took during our 10,000 Mile trip of a mixed modern/old view of Quebec City. The structure with the aged copper roof is the Service Canada which is just across the street from the Gare du Palais (a VERY nice train station where we whiled away quite a few hours).

Quebec City color

There’s very little processing on the image, though I did crop a bit to tighten the frame.

Number 2000

In April 2010 I decided to give digital photography a go. I bought a Canon G11 and started shooting. When I got to the 1000th G11 shot, I posted it. Today’s photo is the 2000th taken with my T2i. After I get the much anticipated Canon 5D Mark III, I am hereby officially committing to post the 3000th shot from it. Stay tuned… ;^)

Old tractor close-up

The close-up is of an old tractor I found in a field next to a back road I sometimes take during my commute home from work.

Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm at 38mm. 1/250 second at f/11, ISO 200.

Bright afternoon heading west

Yesterday, we had a band rehearsal in Berkeley. Here’s a shot I took from the passenger seat while crossing the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on our way home in the late afternoon. The sunlight was obviously very intense, over-exposing the bay, but the image captures the feel of the moment. For people not familiar with the Bay Area, the tall mountain is Mt. Tamalpais and the small peninsula at the center of the image is San Quentin prison.
