This past weekend we were in Cedar Rapids, Iowa playing music at a three day Czech Festival. To say we had fun would be an understatement–we had a BLAST! A big reason why we were there was because of a massive flood of the Cedar River in 2008 which devastated much of the city including most of the old Czech neighborhood. They’ve been rebuilding and are now pushing to revitalize the area. Here’s a shot of a very placid looking Cedar River taken in the late afternoon from the 16th Ave bridge just outside the Czech Village.
