One of the main challenges of shooting everything with a prime lens is that it’s a fixed (aka, cemented in stone) focal length. For the past couple of years I’ve been mostly a zoom shooter. With the EOS M, I trying to stick with the compact 22mm prime.

Number four in the “straight on” series, the Miele appliance store on Petaluma boulevard. The storefront has very “mid-century modern” appearance which sets it apart from the other establishments in the immediate area. And Miele vacuums are the bomb.

I’ve been going out for long walks lately. One might think I was walking solely because I got a new camera. Nope. I’ve been a runner for 35 years and have, unfortunately, over the past year developed a nagging achilles heel injury. Walking doesn’t seem to irritate the heel, so I’m getting out and about around town on foot several times a week. Buying the small, lightweight EOS M was the motivational part of my therapy. So far so good. This image, taken yesterday afternoon, is the third in a growing series of straight on shots.
