While waiting to get a repair done on my car, I took the opportunity to go for a walk and grab a few shots of the neighborhood.

By the edge of the Petaluma river at the “D” Street bridge, the old pilings show the scars of time and tide.

I took this shot a couple of days ago while out for a walk along the riverfront. I processed it as a “faux HDR” image–it’s just one tweaked image, not multiple images merged into one. The enhanced dynamic range of the scene is much closer to what my eye saw when I took the shot.

This is a multi-use complex along the Petaluma River. The structure is quite large so I used the extreme wide angle end of my lens to get its full length plus the reflection into the frame. I corrected the wide angle distortion in post using the Photoshop “Lens Correction” filter and went with black and white because I’m on a kick.
