The weekend and holiday shots.

di Suvero on the Embarcadero

Mark di Suvero is a well known abstract expressionist sculptor who just happens to have a very visible studio in my hometown (but that’s another story). This di Suvero sculpture called “Sea Change” is located near AT&T Park on the bay side of the Embarcadero in San Francisco. The person in the middle’s shirt just happened to look similar to the red in the sculpture so in Photoshop I extracted the reds into a layer, converted a duplicated image layer to black and white and merged the two.

Night wharf

In general, I don’t take a lot of photos during any given outing (I must still have a film SLR sensibility), and I rarely use a tripod, so when I get several shots that I like I’m a happy photographer. Another from the baseball game series I’ve been posting over the past few days, this wharf scene was taken after the game along the Embarcadero while walking back to my car.

Stadium views

It’s been a busy past few days, so I’m enjoying a lazy Sunday. Time to recharge the camera batteries. While they’re recharging, here’s a couple more shots I took during Thursday night’s SF Giants ballgame.
