The weekend and holiday shots.

A lifting veil

After a year+ of almost daily photo blog (and in the beginning, Facebook) posts I think I’m ready to step up my game. The commute is a drag, and stopping to take photos only makes it longer. I’ll still do commute shots now and again if the sky/weather is interesting, but the mission is over. Time for a different tack and a different category (or two). Daily posts will continue. Onward…

The other bridge

I’m feeling a bit sleep deprived today. Up at 3:30 AM, on the road at 4:00… home at around 4:00 PM. It’s a grind. Add 135 miles of driving through a major metropolitan area to the mix, multiply by 12 years… Anyway, here’s a recent shot I took of the Bay Bridge. The silver connector between San Francisco and the east Bay may not be as iconic as the Golden Gate, but it holds its own.

Sunday morning after a gig

This past Saturday night, our band played a gig at Smiley’s Saloon and Hotel in Bolinas, CA. We’ve played there many times, and, because driving home in the wee hours on the windy roads from Bolinas is such a trek, we always accept the gracious hospitality of the proprietor and spend the night–NICE perk! After breakfast on Sunday morning the fog began to abate so we decided to take a long walk along the beach.

This shot was taken along the mouth of the Bolinas Lagoon.
