The weekend and holiday shots.

Phoning in a ballgame shot

My daughter took me to an SF Giants ballgame last night. It was a blast, but, unfortunately, was also a work night. I got home at 12:30 AM and had to get up 3 hours later to head out on my wee hours morning commute. Needless to say I’m spent. I took a lot of shots with my G11 and T2i, but I’m too beat to process them. So here’s the iPhone shot I took (using the Hipstamatic app) and sent to my Facebook friends during the game.

BTW, it was the Giants vs the Reds and the Giants lost. C’est la vie.

Pros and Cons

The VERY unusual late Spring rains have once again put a damper on my commute stop, so for today’s photo I went to the well. I flipped through several dozen images and stopped at this one. The shot was taken back in late March at a recording session. The feet belong to two of my band mates.

The bridge at night

Last night we played a gig at the Presidio Yacht Club. Between sets I managed to grab some night shots of the Golden Gate Bridge–the view of the bridge from the outside porch of the club is spectacular! I didn’t use a tripod, but rested the camera body on the deck railing and framed accordingly. This image was my fave.

I did very little post processing on the image–a slight crop, a fractional boost in the white level and the usual sharpening after resizing for the blog.

Industrial mishmash

Happy May Day! Shout-out to the workers of the world!

This afternoon we headed off to band rehearsal and several miles down the road I realized I’d forgotten to bring a camera. Damn damn damn! “Not so” says I to myself several minutes later, “I’ve got my iPhone.” So here’s an iPhone shot I took (using the Pro HDR app) of the view just across the road from our rehearsal space.
