You wouldn’t know it by this image, but, yes, this is a wastewater settling pond. The wetlands treatment facility is located in Petaluma near the Petaluma river. Besides providing sanctuary for all kinds of creatures, there are 200+ acres with hiking and biking trails to be enjoyed by the public.

I’m currently in transition, and the road beckons. The question is, should I go east or should I stay in the west? Heading north is inevitable.

Not every shot works. Sometimes focus is missed, or there is too much motion in the frame… but sometimes the “mistakes” give rise to an interesting image.

The band played a gig on Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay on Saturday. The venue uses a small boat (rather than the ferry) to shuttle performers to and from the mainland. During the raucous ride back I managed to get a decent shot of the gorgeous day on the bay.

After watching the 4th of July fireworks down by the river in Petaluma, I grabbed this shot while walking home. Yes, I shot the fireworks, but this one was just more… interesting.
