The bridge at night

Last night we played a gig at the Presidio Yacht Club. Between sets I managed to grab some night shots of the Golden Gate Bridge–the view of the bridge from the outside porch of the club is spectacular! I didn’t use a tripod, but rested the camera body on the deck railing and framed accordingly. This image was my fave.

I did very little post processing on the image–a slight crop, a fractional boost in the white level and the usual sharpening after resizing for the blog.

Landmark in tones

The sky cleared today so for commute fun I headed down to Fort Baker. I took a little hike up behind the Presidio Yacht Club and grabbed some shots. Though the color rendering of this shot of the bridge looked nice, black and white just seemed better.

Wild turkeys

I had a band rehearsal after work today so I had to get home. I did, however, manage a quick stop near my house where I grabbed a few shots of some turkeys as they were scurrying across an open field. This shot is zoomed all the way in so it’s all the turkey I could get. What I like about it is being able to see where they’re heading.

We’re having an unusual, winter-like rainy spell here in the Bay Area. On the weekend, between cloudbursts, I took this shot. I call it “Clouds and crow” because, well… that’s what it is. ;^)
