Since it’s a lazy Saturday, I’ve been combing through last week’s commute photos (keeps me off the streets ;^). This one is a view of the Presidio overpass construction zone outside of the support posts image I posted earlier this week. Lots of contrast going on here.

I happened upon this little scene during yesterday’s commute shoot and couldn’t resist snapping a quick photo. For me, it’s the kind of serendipitous moment that occasionally happens when the camera is in hand and at the ready.

For a change of pace, I took a back road route home today. I got a couple of shots that I liked but ended up favoring this one. Old stuff always catches my eye and this definitely qualifies.

I’ve been observing the progression of the new overpass/merge being constructed at Doyle Drive and Hwy 1 for the past 6 months. And because I drive by the site every work day, it’s an obvious (and easy to get to) subject for a commute photo. This time I had a look underneath.

On the way home today I took another detour through the Presidio. I came on this nicely lit grove of cypress trees so I stopped to get some shots. The tree boughs looked lovely in the bright, shady light against the glowing green grass. And I was surprised to see “Resolve Conflict with Song” there amongst them. Turns out it’s part of a year-long Presidio Habitats exhibition celebrating Presidio wildlife and nature. Très cool!
