Here’s an intimate scene of a typical summer afternoon out in the hills of southwestern Sonoma County, California. The fog veiling the higher hills is a regular presence.

I was having an “off” day, so in a fit of “I need to do something–NOW” I grabbed my camera, got in my car and did a loop out in the hills. This little bucolic scene was the fave of the 20 shots I took. And, yes, I’m much happier now.

At Sunday night’s gig, except for the stage, the space was very dark. And because I also had to play guitar I didn’t have a lot of time to think about “making a good shot.” I did, however, gather some pixels for abstraction. Here’s a noisy, handheld at a very slow shutter speed shot I made work with post processing.

We played a gig in San Francisco last night. After loading our gear into the club, I had some time to kill so I grabbed my T2i and took a short walk around the neighborhood. I came upon this scene and couldn’t help but register the irony– “Look Better, Feel Better.”

It was a HOT 4th of July weekend here in the SF Bay Area. I was back at work today and because it’s still hot I bee lined home. So for today’s photo I went to the well. I took this shot back in February, liked it enough to process it, but I must have liked another better because it never got published.
